We’re Starting A Nonprofit!

We are excited to announce the creation of a nonprofit organization for the purpose of saving Carlsbad Village Plaza.

Called the Equitable Land Use Alliance, our new nonprofit organization will fight the demolition of the plaza, taking legal action if necessary. We will enlist our own experts and legal counsel to push back on the unfair process we’ve seen so far.

The Carlsbad Village Mixed Use project is the poster child of projects that create permanent damage to communities by hiding behind laws that undermine local control of land use. These laws undermining community self-determination and sustainable development principles. The situation has gotten way out of balance. Enough is enough!

You can support our effort to look after the wellbeing of our Village residents and preserve what makes Carlsbad a great community. Please contribute to our fundraising campaign. Let’s kick this fight into high gear!

Protect The Heart Of Our Community!

Equitable Land Use Alliance will not only fight against this project, we’ll also work to reform the laws that created this monster in the first place.

We’re steadfast in our commitment to advocating for fair and just housing policies that reflect the needs and values of local residents. Our goal is for local authorities to exert as much control as possible over land use decisions, ensuring that developments align with community interests and well-being.

Through education, community engagement, and legal action, we strive to defeat this project and take steps to prevent projects like it in the future. Our aim is to restore and preserve the authority of local governance in land use decisions, fostering a balanced and equitable approach to development that benefits all community members.
